The 60-year-old retired interior designer from Alexandria, VA met Gerry Turner, ABC's first-ever "Golden Bachelor — or senior contestant — on the show's Thursday, Sept. 28 premiere.
Hulkower and 14 other women received a rose during the final rose ceremony, and will be progressing to the show's next round.
The other women who got a rose were Ellen, Theresa, Natascha, Leslie, Christina, Edith, Susan, April, Sandra, Jeanie, Kathy, Marina, Peggy and Joan.
Many of them widows and divorcees, the contestants don't have any ulterior motives, like a push on social media or hopes for a spot on "Bachelor in Paradise." They, like Turner, a widow from Indiana, want to love again.
Hulkower is no different.
Wearing a one-shoulder-strap white satin gown, Hulkower shot hoops on the court with Turner in Thursday's episode.
Hulkower loves playing golf, walking her golden-doodle, Max, and watching college basketball.
The mom of three is loyal, faithful and funny, and is looking for a self-assured, trustworthy man with whom to share her life.
She is a self-described hopeless romantic and says, “I believe in love stories. And even having had a great one, I believe I can have another.”
The show airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
